With a quick Google search, Tellonyms history of cyber bullying and harmful content is very easy to find. Users have a veil of anonymity which unfortunately allows them to speak their mind with no consequence. While this can be positive at times, many kids are either cruel or at the very least, controversial.
Questions run the gamut, from politics and pop culture to more personal questions like 'How do you know if you're gay?'. Users don't always ask questions, but may just make general statements on other people's profiles. Sentences such as 'you should k*ll yourself' or 'I want to f**k you' are commonly seen on the app. The topics and comments on this app really are endless.
Tellonym can also be linked to other forms of social media, such as Twitter, Snapchat and Instagram, which allows for inappropriate images or videos to be posted alongside inappropriate comments
This app will allow you to ask anonymous questions to people who are within your physical area. This can be risky if you give away too much information about where you are or what you look like. Make sure this information isn't included in anything you share.
It's important to remember that if someone is bothering you, they are generally doing it because they want to spark a reaction from you. Remember that cyber bullying is not about you, but the person doing it trying to make themselves feel better about something (they might be jealous or just down themselves). You can report all content anonymously, reporting both questions or answers (refer to the How To's below).
Just because you are 'anonymous' on the app does not give you the right to disrespect or be nasty to other people. Do not consider this anonymous 'wall' a safeguard and a place where you can hurt other peoples feelings. Always think if what you are saying or posting, you would be comfortable sharing in person!
Whenever you put something out on the internet, whether it is replying to a nasty comment or providing your opinion on something, it is added to your digital footprint and can't be 'deleted'. Always consider if you would want your teachers, parents or friends to see how you are behaving online and if you would be okay with them seeing that!
